The holiday party season is officially here, and we are looking forward to the merriment, the food, and of course, the wine! But in between decorating, food prepping, and primping for the festivities, it can slip our mind to do something as simple as chill the wine. Forget to put your Jam Jar wines in the fridge before the guests arrive? Don’t worry – we’ve got you set with some quick at home tricks for quickly chilling wine in a matter of minutes!
Salt Bath Method
One of the easiest ways to chill your wine is the old-school “salt bath” method. Fill a large pot with cold water, a ton of ice and about ¼ cup of salt. Add the bottle to the pot and stir occasionally to speed up the cooling process.

Comments: If you need to chill several bottles at the same time, this method works really well with a cooler.
Another common household trick is the “paper towel” technique. Soak 1-2 sheets of a paper towel in cold water and wring it out so that it is still holding quite a bit of liquid, but not dripping too much. Wrap the bottle with the wet paper towel and place it in the freezer.
Time: 15 minutes

Comments: If your bottle isn’t cold enough after 15 minutes, re-soak the paper towel.
Wine Ice Cubes
Our last method takes more advance preparation, but it’s a real lifesaver in a pinch! If you’re anything like us, you drink Jam Jar frequently enough where it makes sense to have Jam Jar ice cubes on hand. It’s the perfect way to use any leftover wine if you haven’t finish a bottle (but why wouldn’t you??) and it can also come in handy if you ever need to make a red wine reduction for a recipe. But most importantly this will chill your wine quickly without watering it down!

Comments: Stores now sell silicon ice molds in fun and festive shapes like Christmas trees – perfect for a holiday party!
We hope this helps you to enjoy your Jam Jar wine at the perfect temperature no matter how spontaneous the pouring! Cheers!
